Veteran Information and Benefits Each year Veteran Benefit and Informational classes are held. You do not need to be a veteran in order to attend these classes. Service Officers will be available to help you access if you, a family member or friend have the basis for a claim. Please contact the POC for more information and to sign up. UAW REGION 1 Feb 21, 28, 2009 We will be holding a Service Officer/Benefits Class at the UAW Region
1Headquarters. The class will consist of 2 Saturday's February 21st & the 28th,
2009. They will be held from 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM each day. We will serve lunch
and supply beverages both days. The cost will be $20.00 a person which will
include a service officer's book. This must be paid at the door. UAW LOCAL 5960

BENEFITS AWARENESS CLASSES
VFW state service officers present the class and provide an extensive overview of all veterans benefits you earned by your honorable service to this country. Additional service officers will be present to assist veterans file claims and answer their questions for those that do not want to sign up for the classes. Bring DD-214 to investigate filing a claim. If you have lost your DD-214, they can assist in gaining a replacement. There is no excuse not to inquire about your benefit entitlement. Claim assistance is totally free 9:30 am till 1:30 pm you do not need to be a veteran to attend or inquire about assistance for a veteran or their dependents . All classes are held at UAW Local 5960 Union Hall. MAP Click for map. A $25.00 donation for the four classes will be collected at the first class, March 7, 2009. This covers the cost of service book and snacks. Check with your veterans organization as many groups reimburse for completing class. Collection for lunch will be addressed weekly.
